Amarbayasgalant Monastery
Ulaanbaatar- Amarbayasgalant Monastery 350km
- Today we will move towards Amarbayasgalant Monastery which is located in Baruun Buren village of Selenge province. Known as Palace of Eternal Peace, Amarbayasgalant Monastery was built by the decree of Qing dynasty Emperor as a sign and token of his respect for Mongolian first spiritual leader Zanabazar. Construction took place between 1727- 1736. The Monastery was able to save its’ most part from communist destruction and today only 28 temples remain. Different styles of temple walls which combines Chinese style with Mongolian and Tibetan influence has contributed a magnificent role in Mongolian architecture and Buddhist art.

Extinct Volcano Uran Togoo
Amarbayasgalant – Uran Togoo 260km
- Before arriving to our next destination we will pass thru one of major cities of Mongolia, Erdenet which is big copper mining town and built upon the Mongolian and Russian people’s friendship.
- Start to drive towards to Uran Togoo an extinct volcano crater which is located in Bulgan province on the way to Khuvsgul Lake. Uran literally meaning artistic is a crater almost looks like that its ridges has been carved in very fine craftsmanship. Diameter of circled crater ridge almost about 500ms with 15m depth and surrounded with trees will add color to the scenery.

Murun town
Uran Togoo –Murun town 250km
- Today we will arrive in Murun city, center of Khuvsgul province. A small town of a loose, spread out grid of streets with surrounding green hills with very few multi-floor buildings, busy market, a large stadium and a small airport. Here we will stock up on our supplies and get issued our border permit.

Mongolian Switzerland- Khuvsgul
Murun town – Khuvsgul Lake 145km
- Today we will arrive in Murun city, the center of northernmost province Khuvsgul. Here we will pick our border admission to travel around border areas where Reindeer breeders live.
- Continue driving to the Khuvsgul Lake which respectfully referred as “Blue Pearl” or “Mother Sea “by locals. The Lake is one of the wonders and top destinations of Mongolia. Khuvsgul Lake is located in the northwest of Mongolia near the Russian border, at the foothills of the eastern Sayan Mountains. It is 1,645 meters (5,397 feet) above sea level, 136 kilometers (85 miles) long and 262 meters (860 feet) deep. Khuvsgul Lake is the deepest lake in Mongolia. It is the second-most voluminous freshwater lake in Asia, and holds almost 70% of Mongolia's fresh water and 0.4% of all the fresh water in the world. Almost hundred springs, rivers and streams flow into the lake when only Egiin Gol River flows out form this gigantic water pool. Plus its water factors, Khuvsgul National Park cover huge percentage of Mongolian forest and primarily Taiga.

- Today we will start our warming up horse trekking along the Shore of Khuvsgul Lake. This is a practicing day, so the riders can get used to the Mongolian horses and to whip way their concerns and fear. Riding will take roughly 4-5 hours.

Ulaan Uul and Tsagaan Nuur village
Khuvsgul Lake – Ulaan Uul- Tsagaan Nuur 320km
- We will start our journey towards to the mysterious Taiga, extreme north of the country. In order to reach the point where we will saddle up our horses we will drive thru breathtakingly majestic Darkhad Depression, the green land of river and lakes. Alongside our driving there are two villages Ulaan-Uul, the Red Mount and Tsagaan Nuur, the White Lake. A small administration units has few streets of fenced private houses, small shops in the main area and local school, police and hospital
- After two days of wonderful journey amongst the thrilling landscape, we will arrive to our host family near Tsagaan Nuur.

Taiga Ride
- Today we begin challenging part our trip, trekking on the trails of Taiga on a horse back. Taiga is an unbelievably beautiful landscape of forests, high mountains and wetland. The Reindeer people live upon those mountains herding their reindeer on the lichens and mosses of the bountiful Taiga. Since we will be riding mainly on the swamp and in the trees, some flies and mosquitoes will assist us during our journey.
- Driving ours will vary depending on the distance of summer camp of Reindeer people. Depending on the heat and vegetation, each year tribes change their locations.
- Later in the day camp out and refresh ourselves by cold stream.

Land of the reindeer
- Continue our horse trekking to the Tsaatan people’s camp. In the summer, Reindeer people mainly live in the teepees which is made tree of branches and covered by traditionally with the skins and hides of reindeer, but lately with waterproof canvas. Although reindeer is their primary living source, some Tsaatan families own livestock as well as their reindeer herd. And these animals are used for food, for clothes and bring income home. Tsaatan people live in tribal community and today there about over 60 families with nearly 300 members.
- Later in the afternoon arrive at the Tsaatan camp. Visit the teepees and enjoy reindeer milk tea.

Exploring the Reindeer breeders
- This is the day of exploring and experiencing. We will have full day of learning, observing and enjoying Tsaatan people, their traditions and culture.
- Except learning, you can also take part in their daily activities and help around.
- Tsaatan people have always been practicing shamanism as their main belief. Rest of hours, in the afternoon we will spend with local shamans and see their rituals.
- Sharing is caring. While sharing our dinner with host family, we can hear some traditional stories and legends, songs of Tsaatan people.

Saying good bye- Riding Back
- Around noon, we will take our return journey. Another adventurous experience in the unspoiled nature of Taiga and on its uneasy but outstanding tracks.
- After a day and half ride will arrive back at Tsagaan Nuur village where we will meet our vehicle. Rest of day will be chill out, recovery and refreshing easy day.

- Today we will continue our driving and stopover on the way in one of the amazing valleys of Darkhad Depression near Ulaan –Uul village.

Tunamal Lake
Ulaan Uul- Tunamal Lake 270km
- We will continue drive to Tunamal Lake which is located in the region of Tsetserleg village, Khuvsgul province. On the way stop at petro glyphs and stone men monuments dating back to Bronze Age and Turkic state era.

Tes village
Tunamal Lake – Tes village 350km
- Today we will arrive to a place called Tes village which named after a river flowing over the village. Outsourced from Bulnai ranges Tes River flows thru territories of Khuvsgul, Zavkhan and later flows into Uvs Lake, the biggest saline lake of Mongolia. Total length of river is around 550kms and widest part reaches almost 100ms.

Uvs Lake
Tes village – Uvs Lake 300km
- It is the largest lake in Mongolia by surface area, covering 3,350 km² at 759 m above sea level. The northeastern tip of the lake is situated in the Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation. The largest settlement near the lake is Ulaangom. This shallow and very saline body of water is a remainder of a huge saline sea which covered a much larger area several thousand years ago.

Kharkhiraa River Valley
Uvs Lake- Kharkhiraa Valley 200km
- Arrive at Kharkhiraa River valley in Uvs province. An amazing spot for camping out by the fast flowing river of Kharkhiraa. The valley is down below the foothills of dominating twin peaks Kharkhiraa (4037m) and Turgen (3965m) mountains. The area is hedged with pine tree forest and lush green meadows. Opportunities to hike around.

Tsagaan Nuur village/Bayan- Ulgii
Kharkhiraa – Ulgii province 220km
- Drive over the Ulaan Davaa, a famous mountain pass on the boundaries of Uvs and Bayan-Ulgii provinces to reach out Tsagaan Nuur village. This is a small county close to Russian border. Here we will apply and obtain our border permit.

Altai Tavan Bogd National park
Ulgii province- Altai Tavan Bogd National Park 250km
- Today we will head to one of our main highlights of this trip Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. This vast mountainous park is situated on the borders Mongolia, China and Russia. Tavan Bogd or the name Five Holy Peaks of Altai was referred to the five highest peaks of the chain. Khuiten Summit is the highest snowcapped peak of all, which is 4374ms. Within the park there are some big and small sized 30 glaciers, several large lakes, and waterfalls, plenty of flora and fauna, and world class archeological sites such as Tsagaan Salaa Petro glyphs which are enlisted as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. When you are here, in the park, you can do various activities such as horse trekking, hiking, climbing, fishing, skiing and mountain biking.

Five-Holy Summits
- Today we will start our journey to the highest point of Mongolia. The distance between ranger station and base camp is about 20kms which will take around 4-5 hours hiking. Our packs will be carried on the either camel or horse back who will escort us during our hike.

Climbing Day –Malchin Peak
Tsagaan Nuur village – Camping Site
- Early morning is the best time to view all the peaks of the Altai Mountains. Great opportunities for photo shooters. After breakfast, we will slowly start our climbing on the Malchin Peak, 4025ms. This is the peak which is reasonably climbable for amateurs without requiring professional mountaineering gears, experienced special guides. But obviously safety never harms. We will be walking on the rock boulders, gravel and hard snow to reach the top of the summit. Total climbing will take roughly 4 hours.

Returning from the Mountains
- After easy morning we will pack up our staff on the camel back and slowly head back trekking to rangers’ stations.

Exploring the Kazakh hospitality
- A Day off. Today we will have a full day of recovery after several days of driving and hiking. Visit Kazakh nomadic families and experience their generous hospitality along with their well-preserved traditions. Meet the Eagle Hunter and learn about this unique form of sports to train the eagle and hunt with it.

Drive back to Ulgii
- Arrive in Ulgii. Visit local museum and local market where you will see the boosting life of the local people. Later afternoon for relaxing and refreshing.

Khyargas Lake
Ulgii city- Khyargas Lake 350km
- Today we will leave Ulgii city towards to an amazing lake Khyargas, in Uvs province. Another big Lake found in the area with a majestic view and considered as one of the top attraction of the region. With 75kms length and 31kms width stretching west to east, this salt lake is a shining jewel of the arid steppe. Lake provides an attractive summer home for migratory birds, especially near Khetsuu Khad a stunning rocky outcrop on the southern shore. According to the studies it’s said to be one of the largest lakes covering more 1000sq/km territory.

Dunes of Mukhart and Khar Lake
Khyargas Lake – Mukhart sand dune 210km
- First we will arrive at the bank of fresh water Khar Nuur Lake which is locally called as Ulaagchinii Khar Nuur and some parts of the lake is surrendered with fine sand dunes. The Lake area was taken under official protection since 2010 as a Strictly Protected Area for its fauna and birds.

- Today we will continue with short drive towards to Mukhart River and Mukhart Dunes. The river gently flows at the bottom 400ms high dunes forging an oasis for refreshing and relaxing by the river side among the lush green trees. This place undoubtedly a natural beauty and one of the must see destinations in the vast plains of the country.
- Hiking and sand dune climbing activities will surely keep you busy for the whole afternoon.

Telmen Lake
Khar Lake – Telmen Lake 280km
- Turn back to the Telmen Lake in Zavkhan province. Saline Lake Telmen has some smaller islands where birds gather during their migrating season. The lake is formed on the high altitude, thus it’s shallow. Shores of the lake matches for an excellent camping site
- Enjoy the lake view and optional hike along the shore.

Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park
Telmen Lake – Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur 250km
- Road to Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park which is located in Arkhangai province and created by a volcanic eruption. The Lake is called White Lake by locals as a symbol respect to the nature and water. There are few kinds of fish were found in the lake.
- Visit to an extinct volcano Khorgo which is on the height of 2240ms. From the top of the Volcano you will enjoy the amazing lava flows covered with forest and splendid view of the lake. Some thousands of years old lava flow formed an original scene that has never seen elsewhere in Mongolia. During the eruption were also formed different sized caves which later were mentioned in local stories and legends. Stopover by Cave of the Yellow Dog.

Tsenkher hot spring
Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur- Tsenkher hot spring 220km
- Arrive at Tsenkher Hot springs. It is one of the biggest Mongolia’s hot springs, has a temperature of 86 degrees. It’s popular for its healing properties and high content of sulphur. The hot spring is mostly used for relaxing and restoring your health. Here we will have a hot tub outside and enjoy cold beer and beautiful scenery. Optional hiking and a great place for wild flower observers.
- You will be given a plentiful time to soak yourself in the hot pool.

Khugnu Khaan Nature Reserve
Tsenkher hot spring- Khugnu Khaan Nature Reserve 250km
- Arrive at Khugnu Khaan Nature Reserve today which is a combination of all kinds of natural settings such as mountains, forest, steppe, desert, small lake and mineral water spring all in same location forming unique scenery and representation of different natural zones. The area is perfect for hiking, climbing and horse riding.
- Hiking to the ruins of Erdene Khamba Monastery which dates from 17th century with the perfect location of concealing and escaping the wind and cold of the steppe in the granite mountain. Later restored by a local nun and operating as a small place of pilgrimage for locals.
- Visit Dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai on the camel back.

Ulaanbaatar via Khustai National Park
Khugnu Khaan Nature Reserve-via Khustai - Ulaanbaatar 280km
- Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way stop at Khustai national park which is known as being a home of Przewalski wild horses. Named as “Takhi” in Mongolian, these are the last and only breed of wild horses left in the world. Since its re-introduction, today in the Park, there are some 300 wild horses.
- Park has a great range of rich ecosystems which definitely creates pleasant environment for numerous wildlife. According to the researchers’ data, there are huge numbers of mammals, birds, reptiles and others.
- Return to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your accommodation. (B+L)
